A shy switchboard operator (Jane Wyatt) pursues her self-involved boss (Cesar Romero) on a cruise; Gopher (Fred Grandy) is suddenly self-conscious about his name when he encounters an old girlfriend (Kitty Moffat); and a woman mayor (Shelley Fabares) becomes romantically involved with her defeated opponent (Robert Fuller), making her campaign manager (David Hedison) jealous.
