So I don't understand why Zhilan and Kerwin raided his father's dig and stole the axe. They're planning on raiding his vault anyway. Why not wait until he brings the axe back, then get it along with the rest of weapons when they raid the vault? All they did was tip off that someone was targeting the weapons. Most likely scenario, the father increases the security on his vault and makes it that much harder on them to get the rest of the weapons.
