They are benefiting from a sharp increase in the number of people putting their personal information on the internet for online shopping, and a rise in out-of-work, computer-savvy people who have the skills that can help them carry out their scams. Experts in Japan say individuals, businesses and public institutions are increasingly coming under attack from phishing and ransomware schemes, and they warn that anyone could fall victim. NHK ventured into the murky underworld of the dark web to find out more.
