The St. Petersburg "business trip", which turned out to be another setback for Dauntless and Sviridov, becomes the reason for another dressing down from Karapetyan. But Sotnikov is not going to listen to anyone. He instructs Alice to informally search for any available information about Shchukin and his connections. Meanwhile, a local resident, Elena Smolova, was shot to death in Sochi. While investigating the circumstances of her death, Grigorieva learns that shortly before Elena's death, her mother Galina disappeared. Investigating this case, the Reckless Driver is forced to live under the same roof with his father Victor, who suddenly returned to Sochi after many years of absence. Alice finds out that Shchukin had a joint business with Suvorov, who, in turn, is married to Kuvaldin's niece. Sergei tells Sargsyan about this, but he demands ironclad evidence — the suspects occupy too high positions.… Meanwhile, Victor's fiancee Diana arrives, about the same age as his granddaughter Alice. During a family dinner, Diana announces that she and Victor have decided to sell the house in which Dauntless lives with Alice.
