Bernd Reuther is called to the aid of the Chief Prosecutor Hagen Freitag. The murder of his fiance brings Reuther into a moral dilemma. Friday's apartment is devastated, valuables are missing. And his fiancee Nathalie Kremp is stabbed on the floor. Reuther brings his shaken friend to his daughter Sandra Stein. Reuther knew the victim and wants to withdraw from the case. But his head of government, Dr. Oliver von Heesen differently. Until he can convince Reuther to take over the case, Commissioner Kerstin Klar and Commissioner Max Fischer have already found the well-sent receptionist Tom Derichs, who apparently followed the victim. Did he take revenge on her repeated rejection for Nathalie Kremp? The devastated crime scene continues to puzzles.
Some evidence suggests a notorious burglar gang. The crime scene appears staged for Reuther. Does his old friend Hagen Friday hang deeper than he likes? And what role does Hagen's son Moritz actually play in whose restaurant the victim worked? The trail leads to Hasko Loibl, the former owner of the restaurant. Why was he in constant contact with the murder victim? Reuther realizes that the murder case must somehow be related to the entanglements within the Friday family.
