This was originally a British TV show. It is written by Charlie Brooker. He did a series of satirical weekly news reviw shows called weekly Wipes.
Netflix is an American organization, and sadly American humor/satire has to involve toilets, bathrooms and humiliation.
Ever since it's taken over by Netflix, this series is in a downward spiral.
