Okay - here we go with the BIG LIE... The "Director of the Karnak Temples" referred to Thutmos III victory at Megiddo as pretending it was in some fantasy place called "Palestine". ugh - more garbage from people who make it up as they go along. Let's get it straight once and for all - there has NEVER in all of history been an independent, sovereign country or state called "Palestine" - it was a regional name created by the Roman Emperor Hadrian (Syria-Palestina) as a sign to the Hebrews/Israelites/Jews there that he hated them and wanted to destroy them. Meanwhile, he's gone and, well, ISRAEL LIVES... Oh, and the word "Syria" was also used as simply another name for the region (like Levant or Middle East...) until the French got the mandate over the northern part of the region including what they called "Syria" and Lebanon, while the country of "Syria" became independent of France only in 1946.

The area was Canaan and once captured, it became a province of Egypt (for a time - go to Beit She'an and to the top of the "tel" to see the Egyptian governor's house with Egyptian hieroglyphics on the walls). Thutmos III found the pass through the hills into the "Valley of Yizrael" and took Megiddo. Later, it was taken by King Solomon (read the TeNaKh and you'll get the message).

By the way, when General Allenby of the British arrived after WW1, as a "war historian", he knew about Thutmos III and used the same pass to defeat the Ottomans there! I'll bet the "Director of the Karnak Temples" doesn't have a clue about that!

Here's the "funny" part - listen closely as the "Director of the Karnak Temples" said "Balestine" because there is no "p" sounds in Arabic. It is linguistically impossible for an Arab to voice the letter "p" without a LOT of practice and still, it typically comes out as a "b"! That, of course, begs the question - how could "Palestine" be the name of an ARAB country if the name, itself, is NOT Arabic at all???

Oh, I"m sure I'll get some "backlash" for my comment - I don't care. I know the TRUTH and refuse to let the LIE win...
