Jerry's teenage son, Sammie, comes to the hospital to ask some tough questions. Ella's mother, Vivi, is having surgery, and this affects Ella more than she expected. During the New Year's Eve party, Ella finally officially tells her coworkers about her pregnancy. Given Ella's baby bump, this comes as no surprise to anyone.
