Холодное место I

Dmitry Silantyev, an excellent university student, was killed with a shotgun in the parking lot near a nightclub. The curator describes him as a promising student, but a fellow student opens the eyes of the operas to the true nature of the murdered man. It turns out that this major hardly studied at the university, and recently he had a scuffle with a fellow student Kostya Ryzhov over a girl whom Silantyev publicly humiliated. Egodin and Grigorieva try to find Ryzhov, but find out that he has disappeared. Ryzhov and his girlfriend hurriedly left for Krasnodar. During the arrest, Ryzhov resists, and traces of gunpowder are found on his hands... Meanwhile, Egodin and Grigorieva are interviewing Silantyev, the head of the security service. He reports that Silantyev's son and Sergey Kutabov went to study in Moscow, but both returned six months later. While communicating with Kutabov, an unknown man tries to kill him...
