Episode 5

Mother Nature is as powerful as she can be unpredictable. Come rain or shine, sleet or snow, our nation's farmers need to be prepared for all weathers. In this episode we feature the farmers who constantly brave the elements to get the job done.

Dairy farmer Tom Neil braces himself for a middle of the night snowstorm in Northumberland that could affect his milk production, putting his earnings and all of his hard work at risk.

Three major storms cause mayhem across the UK. In the Yorkshire Dales, the River Ure bursts its banks and floods a nearby farm at lambing time. And cattle farmer James Marshall brings the cows in from the Cumbrian Marshlands, before the high tide floods the land.

JB Gill visits a vineyard in Surrey to help harvest the grapes with owner Nick Wenman, but gets a soaking when a rainstorm erupts.

Away from the UK weather, Rob and Dave visit Sweden and experience freezing temperatures in the Arctic Circle, and learn some survival tips before enjoying a sled ride led by huskies.

The heat ramps up at Cannon Hall when the Nicholsons need to shear their Jacob sheep so they can keep cool as the hot summer arrives. Rob takes Dave to visit a sunny Tea plantation in Jersey, to try and convince him to become a proper Yorkshireman who enjoys a proper brew. And back at Cannon Hall Farm, the brothers manage to have fun in the snow, whilst still ensuring their livestock are fed and warm.
