The Case of the Spurious Spouse

A story of blackmail and bigamy. Perry is helping Nhi Khanh to locate his presumed dead husband in Vietnam. He was a war correspondent named Ben Porter who went missing after marrying Nhi. Paul Drake trails a man who has been watching Perry and he is led to the political headquarters of candidate Clinton Exeter. There Paul sees a man who looks very much like Ben but then he disappears. Perry discovers that Ben's real name is Royce and he was already married when he deceived Nhi.
