CBBC

CBBC was launched by the BBC in 2002 as a standalone channel, after airing as a successful morning and teatime programming block on major terrestrial networks BBC one and BBC Two. The channel is owned and operated by the BBC and airs everyday between 7am and 7pm. The channel is free-to-air and now airs all BBC programming aimed towards an audience of 7-12 year old's. The channel is the home of a number of acquired series, but primarily airs original programs, including 'Newsround' and 'Blue Peter'. The channel launched at the same time as sister network CBeebies which airs children's programming, aimed for the 0-7 year old's.
