A United Kingdom subscription channel owned and operated by Sky plc. The channel is dedicated to airing various highbrow arts programs. The channel airs programs related to culture, the arts, ballet, drama, opera and some documentaries. In 2015 as part of a re positioning of the channel and the launch of international versions of the network, the channel (originally known as Sky Arts 1) was renamed to Sky Arts and sister network Sky Arts 2 was closed down. The channel has become home of 'The South Bank Show' which originally aired on ITV.
