GMA Network is a Philippine free-to-air television and radio network, serving as the flagship property of publicly traded GMA Network, Inc. The original meaning of the GMA acronym was Greater Manila Area, referring to the initial coverage area of the station. GMA was founded/launched in 1950 (Radio) then 1961 (Television).
