TRUE CRIME Announces 'Millionaire Murders' premiering 19 March

TRUE CRIME, the leading channel in the UK specialising in crime documentary content among adults, has announced the launch of two new and three returning original series this spring. These series offer insightful and thoughtful investigations into a range of complex murder cases, from UK rural crimes to the role of wealth in driving violence, the pivotal role of video footage in solving high-profile cases, and the personal stories of detectives who solved cold cases once thought unsolvable. The channel’s favourite presenters Donal MacIntyre and Dr Julia Shaw are returning this season too.

The first new series, "Millionaire Murders" debuts on 19 March. This series explores the intersection of extreme wealth and violent crime, investigating how the pursuit of money, power, and status can lead to murder. Each episode focuses on a high-profile case, where either the victim or the perpetrator had considerable wealth, examining the motivations behind the crimes and the investigations that followed. With expert commentary and archive footage, the series delves into the often-complex factors that contribute to such crimes. Cases featured include the murder of William Saunderson-Smith, who lived ‘under the radar’, using different identities to conceal a sprawling property empire in London and the killing of Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 10th Earl of Shaftesbury.

All four series will premiere on TRUE CRIME in spring 2025, with episodes available for streaming on WATCH FREE UK after their linear broadcast and on TRUE CRIME UK via ITVX.
