ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, announces the exclusive premiere of the second season of its acclaimed original thriller series ISLA BRAVA. All episodes will be available starting July 11 on the platform’s premium plan.
This new season introduces several renowned actors to the main cast, including Ludwika Paleta (¿Quieres ser mi hijo?, Madre solo hay dos), Osvaldo Benavides (Noche de bodas, Monarca), Roberto Mateos (El dragón, ¿Dónde está Elisa?), and Mauricio Hénao (Perfil falso, La herencia, Donde hubo fuego).
Returning from the original cast are Fernanda Castillo (El señor de los cielos, Monarca) reprising her role as Lucía Estrada de Suárez, Flavio Medina (Pacto de sangre, Triada, La reina del sur) as Alfredo, Erik Hayser (Ingobernable, Sense8) as Bruno, and Bárbara López (Amar a muerte, Juliantina, Señorita 89) as Agent Pilar. The cast also includes Karena Flores (Si nos dejan, Corazón guerrero) as Mora, Juan Pablo Fuentes as Thiago, and Mar Sordo as Isabel.
ISLA BRAVA is a story of mystery, forbidden love, and revenge. On the very night Lucía decides to confess to her husband Alfredo—owner of a luxurious resort—that she is in love with his younger brother Bruno, Alfredo mysteriously disappears. There’s no body and no sign of violence. A detective with unorthodox methods begins an investigation that soon uncovers a dark tale of greed, blackmail, gambling debts, and a disturbing family secret.In this second season, the story takes a dramatic turn with Alfredo’s unexpected return, now a fugitive seeking revenge. His return sends shockwaves through the Isla Brava community. With the justice system after him, only Camila (Ludwika Paleta), a journalist determined to expose him, and Pilar (Bárbara López) are committed to stopping him. They are joined by Ricardo Sánchez (Osvaldo Benavides), CEO of a major onshore oil & gas company, whose expertise proves crucial in uncovering Alfredo’s latest schemes. Meanwhile, Lucía (Fernanda Castillo) and her family try to rebuild their lives in Madrid, unaware that the real danger is just beginning.
The series is produced by Onza Américas and was filmed in Madrid and other Spanish cities including Toledo and Denia. ISLA BRAVA is directed by Pitipol Ybarra, created and written by Emmy-nominated Esther Feldman, and executive produced by José María Irisarri, Gonzalo Sagardía, Santiago de la Rica, Harvey Grisalez, and Rodrigo Trujillo.
