Sofia Pernas (born July 31, 1989) is an American actress of Moroccan-Spanish heritage. She was born in Fès, Morocco, and moved with her family to Orange County, California when she was five years old.
Her mother is Moroccan and her father is Spanish — a multicultural background that helped Pernas grow up speaking several languages including English, Spanish, Arabic and German. Initially interested in a journalism career, she changed direction after being discovered by a modeling scout, which opened the door to modeling and eventually acting.
She made her acting debut in 2009, and gained wider recognition for roles including Marisa Sierras on The Young and the Restless (2015–2017), a recurring role on Jane the Virgin (2016–2017), Hannah Rivera on The Brave (2017–2018), and Lexi Vaziri on Blood & Treasure (2019–2022).
Beyond her professional life, Sofia Pernas is married to actor Justin Hartley — the couple wed in 2021.
