Colin Bates

Colin Bates is a British-American actor, producer, dancer, singer, and musician born in Los Angeles, California. He is known for portraying Shane McReynolds, the Sgt. at Arms of the Dark Hearts motorcycle gang in Brad Ingelsby's HBO series Task, led by Mark Ruffalo. He also notably appears alongside Daniel Craig in Luca Guadagnino's Queer, which he attended Venice Film Festival in support of. Bates started his career playing the title role in Stephen Daldry's Billy Elliot the Musical on the West End. He is a graduate of The Juilliard School. His performance on Broadway in the Tony Award winning production of Girl from the North Country is captured on the PBS Great Performances series. He speaks French and has appeared in numerous foreign films, including the Berlin Film Festival Silver Bear winner, The Prayer. In Nice Talking to You, a film which premiered at SXSW, Colin uses Sign Language. He trained with the Royal Ballet in his childhood, as well as several other reputable ballet companies. Colin plays guitar and was member of the band Aelios.
