John is a former entertainment news anchor and broadcaster. He got his early break with twin brother, James Coburn, co-creating and starring in The Poetry Sweatshop, a live theatre production, running for 5 years, that New York Times hailed as, "the most passionate cultural show to ever be created at the Olympic Games".
John is also an artist best known for his pen & ink line drawings and bold oil on canvas paintings whose focus is on big city architecture, fashion and street life in New York City, Paris and Toronto. He has 27 original pen and ink drawings in the permanent collection of the September 11 Memorial & Museum, New York, NY.
John Coburn was born in Hamilton, Ontario and raised in Westdale. He resides in Toronto.
