Born in Bombay, (now Mumbai), Freida Pinto graduated from St. Xavier's College with a BA in English. Signed as a model with the Elite Model Agency in India, she was selected for numerous campaigns for brands such as Visa, MTV, Chanel, eBay and De Beers. Between 2006 and 2008 she hosted Full Circle, an international travel show. Director Danny Boyle chose her through the audition process to play the female lead, Latika, in his 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire.
