He was a producer and composer, known for Footloose (1984), Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973) and Journey Back to Oz (1972). Like his frequent composing partner Ray Ellis, Prescott used a pseudonym when writing music for Filmation television projects. Prescott's nom de plume was "Jeff Michael" which combined the first names of his two sons.
