Richard Adams Cordray was born in Grove City, Ohio. He is a lawyer and politician who served as the first Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from 2012 to 2017. Previously Cordray served as Ohio's Attorney General, Solicitor General, and Treasurer. He is the Democratic nominee for Governor of Ohio in the 2018 election.
