Hiro Murai

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Hiro Murai was raised in Los Angeles from the age of nine, learning English by watching The Simpsons and Looney Tunes. Before graduating from USC film school he was working on music videos for big-name bands and freelance storyboarding to pay the bills. In 2013 he created a video that played during the Grammys behind Frank Ocean's performance of his song 'Forrest Gump', which was spotted by Danny Glover. This led to the making of the music video Childish Gambino, and the 24-minute film Clapping for the Wrong Reasons.
