Jack Benny

Jack Benny (born Benjamin Kubelsky) was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in nearby Waukegan. Benny was a star in Vaudeville, on radio and television and film. Jack has 3 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been inducted into the Television Hall of Fame (1988), the National Radio Hall of Fame (1989), and The Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. The U.S. Postal Service issued a stamp with Jack Benny in 1991. His influence on the modern TV sitcom is immeasurable.

After his death, Jack's will arranged for a single long-stemmed red rose to be delivered to his widow every day for the rest of her life.
