Douglas Brinkley was born in Atlanta, Georgia but raised in Perrysburg, Ohio. He is an author, the Katherine Tsanoff Brown Chair in Humanities and professor of history at Rice University. Brinkley is the history commentator for CNN and a contributing editor to the magazines Vanity Fair and American Heritage.
