Gino Empry was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 1964, he started his own agency for booking and promoting entertainers. He was the first promoter for singers Anne Murray and Celine Dion, and represented the actor/director William Hutt, ballerina Karen Kain, Ronnie Hawkins, and the Irish Rovers. He was also promoter for Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, and Ella Fitzgerald. He was one of the most influential impresarios in Canadian entertainment.
