Born in Hope, Arkansas, Melinda Dillon began as an improvisational comedian and stage actress. She appeared in The Cry of Jazz, a 1959 short film dealing with jazz music and black culture. In 1963 she appeared in an episode of The Defenders, followed in 1964 in an episode of East Side/West Side.
Melinda Dillon died at the age of 83, no cause of death was given.
