Shannon DeVido is an American award-winning actress, comedian, singer, writer, director, and producer. Hailing from Philadelphia, DeVido was born with spinal muscular atrophy. Disappointed by her prospects of becoming a famous athlete, DeVido found theatre at an early age, introducing her to the world of performance and entertainment. Her sardonic humor, accompanied with her acting abilities, has landed her roles on Hulu's Difficult People (2015-2017), Comedy Central's The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore (2015), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2010) among others.
