Michelle Lujan Grisham

Michelle Lynn Lujan Grisham is a lawyer and politician who was born in Los Alamos and graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe before earning undergraduate and law degrees from the University of New Mexico. A 12th-generation New Mexican, she is the mother of two adult children and grandmother of three. Lujan Grisham was Secretary of Health for New Mexico, Bernalillo County Commissioner, elected to the U.S. House of Representatives before becoming the first Democratic woman elected governor of New Mexico, as well as the first Democratic Latina elected governor in the history of the United States.
