Charmian Carr

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Charmain Carr and her family moved to California when she was thirteen. Her mother was a vaudeville actress, her father was a musician and orchestra leader. She was working as a doctor's assistant, modeling in fashion shows for extra spending money, when a friend of the family sent in her photo for a casting call to audition for the part of Liesl Von Trapp in the 1965 movie The Sound of Music. After the movie released she spent several years promoting the movie around the world. She met and married Jay Brent, eventually deciding that she would stay home and raise her children.

Charmain Carr died at age 73 of complications relating to dementia.
