Cori Bush

Cori Bush, elected to Missouri's 1st Congressional District as a Democrat, is the first Black Congresswoman in the history of Missouri. Bush was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Harris-Stowe State University and Lutheran School of Nursing. Her professional experience includes working as an ordained pastor, a registered nurse, in childcare, and as the co-director of The Truth Telling Project. She has spoken internationally on nonviolent conflict as a Nonviolence 365 Ambassador with the King Center. She is also an organizer of the St. Louis protest group known as Expect Us.
