Yusuf / Cat Stevens

Yousuf / Cat Stevens is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in London, England, as Stephen Demetre Georgiou. Initially known by his stage name Cat Stevens, he changed it to Yusuf Islam after converting to Islam in 1977. He later used only Yusuf and finally, Yusuf / Cat Stevens. His musical style spanned folk, pop, and rock before his conversion and eventual retirement from pop music. He returned in 2006, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted him in 2014. He married Fawzia Ali on September 9, 1979, and they have five children.
