Daphne du Maurier

Daphne Du Maurier was an English novelist, biographer, and playwright born in London, England. Her novels Jamaica Inn (1939) and Frenchman's Creek (1944) were adapted into movies. Made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1969, she was titled Dame Daphne du Maurier, Lady Browning, DBE, but she never used the title.
