Patrick Murphy

Patrick Murphy is a seventeen year veteran of the post-production industry with more than 80 feature film and television credits, serving in a variety of advancing roles from Compositor to VFX Supervisor/Producer and Executive Vice President. The varied scope of the projects and facilities where he made his contributions affords him unique insights into the complexities of the business and the specific needs of his clients.

Patrick began his career as an Artist with Quantel, Inc., where he worked with Directors, Producers and facility management in the sale and implementation of Henry and Domino editing and VFX systems.

Patrick leveraged his pedigree professional training and intimate understanding of the business to earn him credits on numerous high-profile projects working for such companies as Prime Focus, Scott Free Productions (RSA Films), 4Media Company (& affiliates), Rainmaker Digital Pictures, 525 Post Production, Zoic, Entity FX and Pixel Magic.

In response to a global market and increasingly accelerated production schedules, Patrick has focused efforts on removing waste in both production and post including design, promotion, execution, delivery and market strategies. He has a proven track record of increasing productivity, streamlining workflows and reducing production costs while simultaneously creating highly motivated and collaborative team environments for stellar results for clients.

While acting as the Managing Director, VFX Producer and Supervisor at LLP Digital, Inc., Patrick produced and supervised more than 45 FX-heavy films during a three-year period. Named "Envy" by the artists who used it, he led a dynamic internal entrepreneurial pipeline project created in response to the challenges the production schedules presented.

"A little experience often upsets a lot of theory," says Patrick. "Having had the opportunity to serve in a wide variety of roles across multiple disciplines, teaches you a lot about what works, what doesn't and what no one is thinking about."

In 2011, Patrick joined Kappa Studios in the development of a post production pipeline that would enable the first new media content to make the jump from online to prime time. Youtube web sensation, The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, earned Cartoon Network's top spot in its target demographic. The production behind Annoying Orange incorporates a unique vision, innovative technology and a good sense of humor.

Growing up, Patrick was enthralled by "The Making of Star Wars" as told by C3PO and R2-D2 which originally aired on ABC in 1977. That program marked the beginning of his interest in the entertainment industry. He quickly became more familiar with those behind the scenes than those who performed on the screen. He still draws on this inspiration today.

A New Orleans native, he is fluent in Spanish and holds degrees in Psychology. His fondness for grits has earned him the nickname, "Gritboy."
