Born and raised in Lyndhurst, Ohio, Eric Carmen was enrolled at the Cleveland Institute of Music at age two and a half, and was writing songs by age twelve. A classically trained pianist, he bounced from band to band, and eventually joined The Raspberries as lead singer, with whom he recorded four albums. Embarking on a solo career in 1975 he had global success with All by Myself, Never Gonna Fall in Love Again, She Did It, Hungry Eyes and Make Me Lose Control.
Eric Carmen died at his home at the age of 74
