Ben Lukas Boysen

Ben Lukas Boysen is a German composer, music producer, and sound designer, living and working in Berlin, specialising in installations, feature film scores and experimental sound. Born in 1981 in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony as the third child of opera singer Deirdre Boysen and actor Claus Boysen, his classical music training on piano and guitar began when he was seven years old. Though Spells and Gravity are his first albums recorded under his own name, as acclaimed electronic producer Hecq he's released nine albums since 2003, exploring everything from ambient to breakcore. He has simultaneously established himself as a trusted composer and sound designer, working for a wide array of clients including Amnesty International and Marvel Comics. On television, he has been involved in the critically acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series Beat, for which he won the German Television Academy Award together with Paul Emmerich in 2019 in the category "Best Music". Along with Paul Emmerich he also co-wrote the music for Sky Max's series The Lazarus Project (2022).
