Greg Kihn

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Greg Kihn was writing songs and playing coffee houses while still in high school, and at age 17 he took first prize in talent contest sponsored by a local radio station where he was awarded a Vox electric guitar, a typewriter, and plenty of records. Moving to San Francisco in 1972 he landed a job at Rather Ripped Records, where he formed a band to play his songs – Kihn on guitar and vocals, Steve Wright on bass and backing vocals, and Larry Lynch on drums and backing vocals. His first LP was issued in 1976.

Greg Kihn died of complications from Alzheimer's disease at the age of 75
