Joi Schweitzer

Black women represent less than 1% of professional pilots — and Joi Schweitzer, (born in 1982), is one of them. When Joi's father, a retired aircraft mechanic, sat her behind the controls of military aircraft, she immediately knew being in the pilot's seat was her calling. After she graduated from Georgia State with a degree in psychology, Joi supported herself through flight school while working as a flight attendant.

When Joi isn't flying, she's a wife and mother, which also has motivated her to pursue a career as a health and fitness coach. Her own struggle with weight loss after giving birth fueled her to live a healthy lifestyle, and she wanted to help other moms achieve that as well.
