Joe Lieberman

Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Joe Lieberman studied at Yale University, earning both a B.A. in 1964 and completed law school in 1967. Three years later he was elected to the Connecticut State Senate. He was a longtime member of the U.S. Senate from 1989 through to 2013. In 2000 he was the Democratic vice presidential nominee - the first Jewish candidate on a major party presidential ticket. 

Joe Lieberman died at the age of 82 due to complications from a fall.
