Amanda Shalala

Amanda Shalala is the Deputy Editor of ABC Sport. She was 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Lead for ABC News, and Co-Lead of ABC Sport's 50:50 Equality Project which is focused on increasing the coverage and representation of women in sport, as well as people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.

Amanda's had an extensive career at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, working across all platforms as a presenter, reporter, commentator, features and line-up producer, digital writer and producer, video editor, and social media content creator.

She's been a reporter/presenter for Fox Sports News, anchoring daily national bulletins, hosting breaking news coverage, and producing features.

Amanda has covered major national and international events including 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, four Paralympic Games, the London Olympics, 2015 Asian Cup, FIFA Men's World Cup qualifiers, the Ashes, State of Origin series and all sports great and small.
