Carlos Rodriguez is an actor passionate about storytelling and authenticity. His journey began in Reynosa, Mexico, and took root in Dallas, Texas, where he discovered his love for acting despite initially not speaking English. A pivotal moment came when his mother took him to see The Tempest at Dallas Shakespeare. That experience ignited a love for Shakespeare that continues to guide his career.
Years later, performing with the Dallas Shakespeare Company affirmed his place in the artistic world. Mentorship from the late René Moreno, who took a chance on him in Coriolanus, encouraged him to share his voice and ideas, marking a defining moment in his journey as an actor. His training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), his MFA from the University of Arkansas, and his professional experience have shaped his craft, allowing him to bring depth and nuance to every character he portrays.
His work spans classical theatre and exciting genres like science fiction, action, and historical dramas. Notable stage roles include Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Hector in Troilus and Cressida, and Richard III. On-screen, he has appeared in Law & Order, FBI, The Last of Us, and in national commercial campaigns.
He strives to find honesty, love, and humor in every role, even amidst the darkest themes. Beyond acting, he brings skills in stage combat, dialects, and musical instruments, allowing him to embrace diverse challenges with authenticity. His goal is to continue evolving as an actor, portraying a wide range of characters, and sharing stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
