Dr. Alok S. Patel is a pediatrician, medical journalist, on-camera expert, producer, podcast host, and devotee of creative, engaging science communication methods. Patel hosts the Nova Now Podcast and runs a popular Medscape web series. Previously, he was co-host of PBS/NOVA's Parentalogic, a digital series on the science of parenting. In addition, he worked as a medical producer for CNN/HLN and as a host/contributor for both ABC and NBC News.
Patel is originally from Arizona and received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson. He completed his pediatric residency at Seattle Children's Hospital and is currently a pediatric hospitalist at Columbia University, Stanford University, and the University of California, San Francisco.
