Caroline Baum

I am a communicator, storyteller, advocate, moderator, journalist, curator, podcaster and author. I work in all digital and traditional media.

My writing covers culture, food, people, places, issues. Aside from journalism, I have written program notes for the opera and ballet, blogs for theatre and film productions, tourism advertorial, exhibition catalogs, speech notes, eulogies.

I grew up and was educated in the UK and began my working life there as a TV researcher for Michael Parkinson and Melvyn Bragg.
I now live in the northern Illawarra in NSW.

As the first Ambassador for the Older Women's Network in NSW (2018-2023), I grew membership and boosted the organisation's profile, hosting public forums and events around our central concerns of poverty, homelessness, domestic violence and ageing well.

In 2022 I created and curated True Story, a unique yearly two day festival of non-fiction, in partnership with the South Coast Writers Centre and the Illawarra Flame (local newspaper). As Artistic Director, I oversee all programming.
