Adam Mulvey is an Army veteran who served our country for 20 years before retiring in 2019 with the rank of Sergeant 1st Class. He was deployed three times to Iraq, as well as one tour of duty in Afghanistan. Mulvey retired from military service in Washington state and then moved to Illinois where he lives with his wife Jessica and three children. Given his extensive experience, Adam was hired by Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago as an emergency management specialist, developing safety plans for the hospital for scenarios such as tornados or an active shooter. His work at Lovell serves approximately 35,000 veterans, every Navy recruit in basic training, as well as thousands of active-duty service members serving at Naval Station Great Lakes and their families.
On February 13, 2025, in the middle of the night, and just a month shy of the end of his one-year probationary period, Adam received an email notifying him that his position at Lovell was being eliminated and his employment was immediately terminated. He was one of nearly 6,000 veterans who were fired between February 13 and 24 due to efforts by DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency.
