Emile Kotze was born on September 1, 1991 and raised in Stellenbosch, South Africa in the Western Cape. He was a family man, raised by young parents and very close with his sister and grandparents. When Emile was 20-years-old he left his small town after getting his skipper's license and started taking sailing trips on the weekend, cray fishing, and surfing - but never realized he could make a career of it. He has since obtained a captain's license and a 200gt RYA Yacht Master offshore certification. Emile worked on super yacht EROS during season 3 of the Bravo reality show, Below Deck and has since worked on several yachts as a deckhand. He has most recently founded a new high-tech, modern travel business app with an AI format, TRN Global.
