Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mia Sara began her acting career at age 13 in commercials, and appeared in a 1983 episode of All My Children. Her debut on the big screen was as Princess Lili in the1985 fairy-tale film Legend, followed by her role as Sloane Peterson in the 1986 blockbuster comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
