Melissa Alce (FKA Melissa Ortiz) was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando and received her MFA in Acting from the National Theatre Conservatory. She is an acting coach at teaching assistant at John Rosenfeld Studios.
Alce is a recent transplant to Los Angeles from the Bay Area. Her favorite theater roles include Yasmin Ortiz in Water by the Spoonful at Cygnet Theatre in San Diego and Sofia in Do You Feel Anger at Circle X Theatre (she went on as an understudy for a full weekend!).
She is known for her kind and bubbly personality, quirky sense of humor, and expressive face. She has been compared to Mary Louise Parker, Joan Cusack, and Leslie Mann.
In addition to her acting career, Alce is also a producer and has been producing theater since 2009, primarily one-night-only short play events called SHOTZ. She is passionate about creating new and exciting theater experiences for audiences.
