Armando Vázquez Tavera (born May 21, 1985, in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican film producer, writer, screenwriter, designer, musician, and academic known for his work in cinema and television. He has produced and contributed to a range of feature films and short films, including El Triunfo de Vivir, Niños Asesinos, Vidas Violentas, and The Juniors y la Fórmula Imperial.
Tavera studied Design at the University of London and earned a Master's degree in Business Administration. He has also served as deputy director for the "Basta No Violencia" campaign, a social initiative backed by the Mexican government involving more than 327 educational institutions to promote non-violence. In 2015, he helped shape this campaign into the feature film Vidas Violentas. His public speaking engagements are part of programs organized by the Confederation of Private Schools and Mexico's Ministry of Public Education.
For over a decade, Armando has taught arts, musical production, human development, event planning, and film production at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City, and has conducted cinematography and performing arts courses at Estudios Churubusco.
Since 2010, he has worked as producer, art director, and executive producer on more than 20 short films and seven feature films, including titles such as Las Reglas del Rey and Claudia No Se Quiere Morir. He is also co-writer of El Triunfo de Vivir.
Armando is a member of the Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México (SACM) and co-founded Glat Entertainment, a production company, with his twin brother, director and producer Ricardo Tavera. He is also the son of writer Susana Tavera.
