Chuck Ortleb is an LGBT+ activist who, in December 1980, created the gay newspaper New York Native. A one-of-a-kind biweekly gay newspaper during the early part of the AIDS epidemic, and pioneered reporting on AIDS when most others ignored it. The newspaper ceased publications in January 1997.
