Ruth Vichos is a Scottish horticultural educator and television presenter, best known as a presenter on the BBC Scotland gardening programme Beechgrove Garden.
Raised in Shetland, Vichos initially studied nursing before moving into horticulture, later studying horticultural science at the University of Glasgow and food security at the University of Edinburgh. Her career has included agricultural development work in Tanzania with the Guernsey-based Eleanor Foundation and academic roles at Scotland's Rural College, where she became a senior lecturer and section lead in horticultural innovation.
She joined the Beechgrove Garden presenter line-up in 2024 and has appeared on the programme in segments covering horticulture, compost, propagation and practical gardening.
